MISSION STATEMENT
The Coalition to Save Belleayre, known also as the Coalition for Belleayre, is a broad based group of skiers, community members, business and civic groups, elected local and statewide officials who came together in 1986 to save the Belleayre Ski Center from imminent closing. Since that success the Coalition has advocated for the economic and civic well being of the western Ulster and eastern Delaware counties region. Recognizing the Belleayre is the economic lynchpin of the region, we advocate and urge all levels government and government agencies take timely actions to maximize Belleayre’s ability to fulfill this role. We advocate for the complete funding to enable Belleayre to be built out to the constitutional mandate and to the approved 2014 Unit Management Plan.

History
Like the entire ski industry in the United States, Belleayre got a jump-start by returning World War Two veterans from the US Army's 10th Mountain Division.
